Powerhouse News

Powerhouse parents!  Be sure to fill out a Powerhouse information sheet.  We are updating our information.  Drop it in the offering or turn it in at Powerhouse when you pick up your child.

Today is the kick-off to our new Powerhouse series “Alien Kids”―living a life that's out of this world!

“HONOR'S REWARD”

John Bevere Series

This 12-session study unveils the power and truth of an overlooked principle―the spiritual law of honor.  If you understand the vital role of honor, you will attract blessing both now and for eternity.  Don't miss a session of this special presentation on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Primetimers

All senior adults are invited to join the Primetimers at ten o'clock Tuesday morning for a Sing-A-Long. James Duckworth will be leading the group in special music.   Come join this time of worship and fellowship. Lunch will be hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, and dessert for a $5.00 donation.

Less@Life

Join Less@Life on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 until 6:15 for a beginner pilates mat class.  There are flyers with more information and a sign-up sheet in the foyer.  Contact Vickey Sullivan or Stephanie Gothart for more information.

Old Fashion Farm Day Oct 2-3

Worship with Lindell Cooley under the stars Friday night.

Camp with the Royal Rangers.

Attend the family-friendly activities Saturday.

Come to the table in the foyer for all the details about this event.

Directions: Cross the Whitesburg bridge and turn right on Hwy 36.  Go 4.9 miles and turn right on Mack Brown Rd.  Go 1.2 miles and turn right on Johnson Landing Rd.  Go about half a mile and turn in at the red barn. Signs will be posted.

             

Wednesday Night Dinner

Taco salad will be served from 5:30 until 6:45 p.m. in the gym for a donation of $5 per person or $20 for a family of four or more.  Come and enjoy a time of fellowship with our church family.  Remember, all proceeds will go to missions.

Monday Night Prayer

There is a prayer meeting every Monday at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Everyone is encouraged to come for a time of prayer.

Ministry Opportunities

We are looking for help in two areas of benevolence:  Senior food boxes which are delivered every month on the third Saturday, and food boxes that are given out the door every Thursday.  If you are interested in helping in these ministries, please see Pastor Robby.

Senior Adult Choir

Next Sunday morning we will be featuring and honoring the senior adults of Life Church.  We are asking all the senior adults that will to join us in forming a choir for this morning service.  We will rehearse this Tuesday at 10 a.m. during the Primetimers meeting in the gym.  Then we will meet again at 9:15 Sunday morning in the choir room.  Please join us to prepare to lead the Life Church worship for this special service.  We look forward to honoring this vital group of Life Church and to enjoying the ministry through music from members of our church family that have “been there and done that!”

Grief – Hospitality Ministry

Would you like to be Christ's hand extended to the hurting within our local congregation?  The Women's Ministries (Women of Destiny) would like to expand ministry to our bereaved families.  Currently we prepare a meal for our grieving families on the day of the funeral of their departed loved one.  Ladies, we need you to continue with this, but we also need donations to provide the meat for this meal and possibly a meat/cheese tray to be delivered to the home on the day of the death.  That's where you (man or lady) are needed.  Would you prayerfully consider making a periodic donation to our grief– hospitality fund?  One day you could be the one on the receiving end.  Thank you in advance for your kind and thoughtful consideration.  Please mark your donation: “Grief–Hospitality Fund.”
